About Me

My journey has always been centered on learning: understanding how people learn, what helps them grow, and how technology can make learning more meaningful. I began my academic journey with a Bachelor’s degree in English, followed by a Master’s in Education, where my interest in teaching and learning grew into a deeper curiosity about how people learn. That interest led me to become an instructor, where three years of teaching experience gave me the opportunity to work directly with learners and see firsthand how different needs, experiences, and learning approaches shape the learning process.

Wanting to explore the connection between learning and technology, I pursued a Ph.D. in Learning, Design and Technology. My doctoral experience expanded my understanding of learning science, instructional design, and educational technology, while strengthening my passion for using technology thoughtfully to create better learning experiences.

Now I work as an Educational Training Specialist on the University of Florida Information Technology Training team. My work spans the full learning experience, from designing and developing self-paced eLearning to designing and delivering instructor-led training for faculty, staff, and students. Working across both design and delivery has given me a broader perspective on what makes learning effective, practical, and meaningful.

What continues to motivate me is seeing learning make a real difference. I enjoy taking complex information or challenging learning needs and turning them into experiences that are clear, engaging, accessible, and useful. Whether helping someone build a new skill, understand a complex concept, or solve a real-world problem, I find the greatest satisfaction in creating learning that helps people move forward with greater knowledge and confidence.

Beyond the Work

Outside of work, I love staying active, exploring new places, and spending time with family and friends. I enjoy playing pickleball and tennis with family and friends, as well as biking, boating, and exploring the outdoors. I love the experiences that keep me moving and connected. I’m also drawn to creativity in everyday life, from discovering home décor and new desserts to photography. My camera often comes along when I travel, where I especially love capturing my family, beautiful places, and moments that make each experience memorable!
